Barbara Panther
Rwandan-born but raised in Brussels, she’s been living in Berlin for the last five years - a city with undeniable grit that cannot help but inspire those who make it their home. It’s her unconventional beginnings that have allowed her to blend musical influences from across a wide range of places and to create a sound that is uniquely her own.
As a bit of cultural gypsy myself I can’t help but feel drawn to her as person and to her surreally dark sound.
Empire, the first single from her self titled debut album, was produced through a collaboration with Matthew Herbert and directed by Woof Wan-Bau.
Photo features items by German designer Larissa Hadijo
Empire is set to be released on April 11th but watch it here first.
